Storm damage restoration

Hail and wind damage isn't always visible from the ground. We find it, document it the way your adjuster reads it, and restore your roof to pre-storm condition.

Why hail damage gets missed

Hail rarely punches a hole in a roof. What it does is bruise the mat underneath the granules — a soft, circular impact that fractures the shingle's structure without breaking the surface. From the driveway the roof looks fine. It will keep looking fine for two or three years, right up until the fractured spots start leaking, long after the claim window has closed.

That's why the inspection matters more than anything else in this process. We chalk a test square on every slope, photograph each impact with a scale in the frame, and count hits per hundred square feet — the same standard your carrier's adjuster uses.

What we check after a storm

Wind and hail leave evidence in places most people never look, and the soft metals around your roof are often what proves the storm to a carrier even when the shingles are borderline.

  • Chalked test square and hit count on each slope
  • Mat bruising, granule loss, and creased or lifted shingles
  • Soft metals — vents, flue caps, drip edge, and gutter aprons
  • Gutters, downspouts, and window screens
  • Siding, fascia, soffit, and window wraps
  • Attic inspection for daylight, staining, and wet decking
  • Storm date verification against the damage pattern

Emergency response

If water is coming in right now, call us before you do anything else. We tarp in both markets, and a tarp installed the same day is the difference between a ceiling repair and a full drywall and insulation job.

Photograph the interior damage before you move anything, and keep the receipts for anything you buy to stop the water. Both go into your claim.

Common Questions

Storm Damage Restoration FAQ

How soon after a storm should I get an inspection?

Sooner is better. Most policies require the claim to be filed within a set window of the date of loss, and that window is often shorter than people expect. An inspection is free, so there's no cost to finding out where you stand.

Will filing a claim raise my rates?

A weather-related claim is handled differently from an at-fault claim, but carriers vary and rate decisions are theirs, not ours. What we can tell you is whether the damage is real and substantial enough to be worth filing — a denied claim still appears on your loss history.

What if my roof was already old?

Age alone doesn't disqualify a claim, but it may affect how your carrier depreciates the payout, especially on an actual-cash-value policy. We'll walk through what your roof's condition means before you file anything.

Is the inspection really free?

Yes — no cost, no obligation, and the photo report is yours to keep whether you hire us or not. If we don't find damage worth filing on, we'll tell you that too.

Do you cover my deductible?

No. Texas Insurance Code §707.002 and Missouri's RSMo 407.725 both require you to pay your deductible and make it illegal for a contractor to waive, absorb, or rebate it. We follow both. If the timing is hard, ask us about financing.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Workmanship is backed by a written warranty from Rise, and the materials carry their own manufacturer warranty on top of that.
